The people behind
your smile.
At heart I'm a dentist — and just as devoted to motherhood, wellness and a slower, simpler life as I am to smiles.
Daughter, wife, mother, dentist. Two of those are full-time jobs I wouldn't trade for anything: caring for my patients, and raising my three children.
Dentistry is my craft and my joy — there's little I love more than watching someone fall for their smile all over again. But my heart lives in the quieter things too: good health, holistic living, staying active, and a gentle dream I keep close — farm mornings, homeschooling, and raising my little ones with room to roam in nature.
This little corner of ours is where the two worlds meet: dentistry, and the everyday work of finding balance as both a practice owner and a mama who believes in living simply and on purpose. It isn't always tidy, but it's warm, real and entirely worth it.
Modern dentistry,
done gently.

Check-ups & Cleaning
Routine check-ups and professional cleanings are the foundation of a healthy mouth. Plaque and tartar build up where a toothbrush can't reach, and left alone they lead to decay, gum disease and, eventually, tooth loss. A regular visit catches small problems while they're still small, and keeps your family out of the dentist's chair for the wrong reasons.
What to expect
At Bright Smiles a check-up is unhurried. We examine every tooth, your gums, your bite and your soft tissues, take any X-rays only when genuinely needed, and then talk you through exactly what we see, in plain language. If treatment is needed you'll know the plan and the cost before anything begins.
Is it right for you?
- Everyone, from a child's first visit to grandparents
- Anyone who hasn't been seen in the last six to twelve months
- Patients managing gum sensitivity or bleeding
- Families wanting a single practice for all ages
The process
Examination
A full look at teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, with X-rays only if clinically necessary.
Professional clean
Gentle scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar above and below the gumline.
Plain-language review
We show you what we found and explain any concerns without jargon or pressure.
Plan & prevention
A clear plan if treatment is needed, plus tailored advice to keep problems away.
Aftercare
There's no downtime after a routine clean. Brush twice daily with a soft brush and fluoride toothpaste, floss once a day, and come back at the interval we recommend, usually every six months.
Frequently asked questions
How often should I come in?
For most people every six months. We'll tell you if your gums or risk level mean we'd like to see you a little more often.
Does a cleaning hurt?
It shouldn't. If your gums are inflamed they can be tender, so let us know and we'll take extra care and go gently.
Do you see children?
Yes. We make first visits calm and friendly so children grow up unafraid of the dentist.
What if you find a problem?
We explain it clearly, give you the options and the costs, and never start treatment without your go-ahead.
Cosmetic Dentistry
The best cosmetic work is the kind nobody can point to. People notice you look well, but they can't say why. At Bright Smiles, cosmetic dentistry is about enhancing what's already yours, matching colour, shape and proportion to your face, so the result looks like you on your best day, not like someone else's teeth.

What to expect
We start with a proper conversation about what you'd like to change and why. We'll show you what's realistic, plan the result around your features, and walk you through the steps and the price before any treatment begins. Nothing is rushed and nothing is oversold.
Is it right for you?
- Teeth that are chipped, worn, uneven or stained
- Small gaps you'd like closed
- Old discoloured bonding you'd like refreshed
- Anyone wanting a natural enhancement, not an obvious one
The process
Consultation & smile design
We listen to your goals, photograph your smile, and design a result that suits your face.
Preview
Where appropriate we preview the proposed shape so you can see and feel it before we commit.
Treatment
Careful, conservative work using high-quality materials and a trusted ceramist for lab work.
Refine & review
A follow-up to fine-tune comfort and finish, and to capture your before-and-after.
Aftercare
Most cosmetic work needs no real downtime. Treat the result like natural teeth: brush and floss daily, avoid using your teeth as tools, and keep up your regular check-ups so the work lasts for years.
Frequently asked questions
Will it look fake?
No. The whole point of our approach is a result that reads as natural, matched to the colour and translucency of your own teeth.
How long does it take?
It depends on the treatment, from a single whitening visit to a few appointments for veneers. We'll give you a clear timeline upfront.
Is it painful?
Most cosmetic treatment is comfortable, with at most mild short-lived sensitivity afterwards.
Will you tell me the cost first?
Always. You'll have the full plan and price before we begin anything.
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a proven, low-fuss way to straighten teeth. A series of custom, near-invisible trays move your teeth gently into place over time. You can take them out to eat and to brush, so there are no broken wires and no flossing gymnastics, just a straighter smile, quietly.

What to expect
We assess whether aligners are right for your case, scan your teeth, and map the full movement plan so you can see roughly where you'll end up before you start. You'll change trays on a schedule and check in with us periodically so we can keep everything on track.
Is it right for you?
- Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
- Adults who don't want visible braces
- Patients who'll wear trays consistently (around 22 hours a day)
- Anyone wanting to straighten teeth before cosmetic work
The process
Assessment & scan
We confirm aligners suit your case and take a digital scan, no messy impressions.
Treatment plan
You see the planned movement and an estimated timeline before committing.
Aligner wear
You progress through a series of custom trays, changing them on schedule.
Check-ins & finish
Periodic reviews keep things on track; we refine and retain the final result.
Aftercare
Once your teeth are where we want them, a retainer keeps them there. Wearing it as advised is what protects your investment, teeth drift back without it. Keep up regular check-ups so we can monitor the result.
Frequently asked questions
Are aligners really invisible?
They're very discreet. Most people won't notice them, and you take them out to eat and clean your teeth.
How long does treatment take?
It varies with the case, often several months. We give you an estimated timeline at the planning stage.
Do they hurt?
You may feel mild pressure for a day or two with each new tray, that's the teeth moving, and it settles quickly.
Will I need a retainer?
Yes. A retainer holds the result. Without it, teeth gradually move back.
Restorative Care
When a tooth is damaged, decayed or missing, restorative dentistry brings back both function and appearance. From discreet tooth-coloured fillings to crowns and bridges, the aim is the same: a comfortable bite and a result that blends in so well it's hard to tell anything was done.

What to expect
We diagnose carefully, explain why a particular restoration is the right one for your tooth, and use materials matched to your natural colour. You'll always understand the options, including doing nothing, and the costs, before we proceed.
Is it right for you?
- Decayed, cracked or broken teeth
- Old metal fillings you'd like replaced discreetly
- A tooth too damaged for a simple filling (crown territory)
- A missing tooth affecting your bite or confidence
The process
Diagnosis
We identify exactly what's wrong and which restoration protects the tooth best long-term.
Preparation
The tooth is gently prepared and, where needed, digital scans replace messy impressions.
Restoration
A colour-matched filling, crown or bridge is placed and adjusted to your bite.
Review
We check comfort and function and make any small adjustments needed.
Aftercare
There may be mild sensitivity for a few days, which settles. Maintain the restoration like a natural tooth with daily brushing and flossing, and keep your check-ups so we can watch it over time.
Frequently asked questions
Will my filling be visible?
No, we use tooth-coloured materials matched to your own teeth so restorations blend in.
Crown or filling, which do I need?
It depends how much healthy tooth is left. We'll explain why one protects your tooth better than the other in your case.
Does it hurt?
Treatment is done comfortably; afterwards you may have brief mild sensitivity that fades within days.
How long will it last?
Well-maintained restorations last many years. Good home care and regular visits make the biggest difference.
Paediatric Dentistry
How a child's first dental visits go shapes how they feel about the dentist for the rest of their life. At Bright Smiles we keep it gentle, friendly and unhurried, so children build trust early and grow up without the fear so many adults carry.

What to expect
Visits are paced for little patients: lots of explaining in child-friendly terms, nothing forced, and parents alongside. We focus on prevention and good habits, and we make the chair a place children don't mind coming back to.
Is it right for you?
- A child's very first dental visit
- Routine check-ups and cleanings for kids
- Nervous children who need a gentle approach
- Families wanting one practice for every age
The process
Friendly hello
We let your child get comfortable, no rushing, no surprises.
Gentle check
A careful look at teeth and gums, explained in words a child understands.
Clean & prevent
A gentle clean where appropriate, plus simple habit and diet guidance.
Make it positive
We end on a good note so the next visit is something they don't dread.
Aftercare
Help your child brush twice a day with a soft brush and an age-appropriate amount of fluoride toothpaste, keep sugary snacks for mealtimes, and bring them back at the interval we suggest so good habits stick.
Frequently asked questions
When should my child first see a dentist?
Around their first birthday, or when the first teeth come through, so we can guide habits early.
What if my child is scared?
That's normal and we're used to it. We go at their pace and never force treatment, which is how fear fades.
Can I stay with them?
Yes, parents are welcome alongside their child throughout the visit.
Do baby teeth really matter?
Very much, they hold space for adult teeth and affect speech and eating. We look after them properly.
Dental Emergencies
Dental emergencies don't keep office hours. A sudden severe toothache, a broken or knocked-out tooth, swelling, or a lost filling or crown all need attention sooner rather than later. The priority is simple: get you out of pain and protect the tooth.

What to expect
Call us as early in the day as you can. We'll triage over the phone, fit you in where we possibly can, and focus the visit on relieving pain and stabilising the problem, then plan any further treatment once you're comfortable.
Is it right for you?
- Severe or worsening toothache
- A knocked-out, loosened or badly broken tooth
- Facial or gum swelling
- A lost filling or crown causing pain
The process
Call early
Phone us first thing; we'll assess urgency and advise what to do right away.
Same-day where possible
We shift things to fit emergencies in and get you seen quickly.
Relieve & stabilise
The first goal is getting you out of pain and protecting the tooth.
Plan the fix
Once you're comfortable we plan any further treatment, with costs explained.
Aftercare
Follow the specific instructions we give you for your situation. Keep the area clean, take any recommended pain relief as directed, and come back for the follow-up so we can complete the proper repair.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe pain, a knocked-out or badly broken tooth, swelling, or a lost crown or filling that's causing pain.
My tooth was knocked out, what do I do?
Handle it by the crown not the root, keep it moist (in milk or saliva), and call us immediately, time matters.
Can you always see me the same day?
We do everything we can. Calling as early as possible gives us the best chance to fit you in.
What will it cost?
We'll explain costs once we've assessed you. The first priority is getting you out of pain.
Myobrace & Myofunctional Therapy
Myobrace is a no-braces, no-extraction approach to crooked teeth and poor jaw development in children, with a parallel programme for adults. Instead of just straightening teeth at the end, it corrects the underlying habits (mouth breathing, tongue position, swallowing pattern) that caused the problem in the first place. This is airway-focused, holistic dentistry, and it’s one of the things Bright Smiles is best known for.

What to expect
We start with a full myofunctional assessment: breathing, posture, tongue and swallowing patterns alongside teeth and jaw development. The programme combines a series of soft, removable trainers worn briefly each day with simple exercises practised at home. Most children see real change in months, not years, and avoid braces entirely.
Is it right for you?
- Children aged 3–15 with crowding, crossbite or jaw development concerns
- Mouth breathers, snorers, or children with poor sleep
- Habits like thumb-sucking, tongue-thrusting or open-mouth posture
- Adults wanting to address airway, tongue or swallowing patterns alongside alignment
The process
Myofunctional assessment
A full look at breathing, posture, tongue and swallow alongside teeth. We treat the whole pattern, not just the smile.
Custom programme
A series of soft Myobrace trainers plus simple daily exercises tailored to age and pattern.
Daily wear + check-ins
Worn one to two hours during the day plus overnight; we check in regularly to keep things on track.
Lasting result
Teeth straighten as the habits correct: a stable result that addresses the cause, not just the symptom.
Aftercare
Once the active phase is complete, occasional retention wear keeps the pattern set. Continued nasal breathing and good tongue posture are what protect the result for life.
Frequently asked questions
Is this instead of braces or aligners?
For many children, yes. Caught early enough, Myobrace addresses the cause and braces are never needed. For older patients we sometimes combine it with aligners.
How long does it take?
Typically 12–18 months of active programme. Earlier intervention means shorter, easier treatment.
Is it just for kids?
Children get the biggest gains because jaws are still developing, but adults benefit too, especially around airway, tongue function and sleep.
Why don’t most dentists offer this?
It’s a specific approach that requires training and a different way of thinking about what causes crooked teeth. Bright Smiles has invested in it because the results last.
Sedation & Anxiety Care
Fear of the dentist is real, common, and nothing to be embarrassed about. At Bright Smiles we offer a full range of anxiety care, from a warm, unhurried approach for mild nerves, to conscious sedation and dentistry under general anaesthesia for patients (children or adults) who genuinely can’t face treatment any other way. Many of our nervous patients have gone years avoiding the dentist; we help them get out of that loop.

What to expect
We start by talking, not treating. You’ll tell us what scares you (sounds, smells, past experience, needles, gagging) and we plan around it. Where sedation is appropriate, we explain exactly what to expect, who’s in the room, the safety steps, and what you’ll feel (and won’t). For GA cases, treatment is done in a fully equipped facility with a specialist anaesthetist.
Is it right for you?
- Adults who haven’t been to a dentist in years because of fear
- Children with significant treatment needs or severe anxiety
- Patients with a strong gag reflex, dental phobia or past trauma
- Complex treatment plans best completed in fewer, longer visits under sedation
The process
Calm conversation
We listen first and build the plan around what makes you (or your child) anxious.
Choose the right level
From a relaxed, unhurried visit, to conscious sedation, to full general anaesthesia, matched to need.
Treatment day
For sedation or GA, you arrive prepared per simple instructions; we look after you from check-in to home.
Recovery & follow-up
A gentle wake-up, time to recover, a clear aftercare plan and a follow-up visit to check everything settled well.
Aftercare
After sedation or GA you’ll need someone to drive you home and rest for the day. We send you home with a written care plan and check in the next day. Most patients feel completely normal within 24 hours.
Frequently asked questions
Is sedation safe?
Yes, when it’s done by trained professionals in the right setting, with proper monitoring. We never compromise on safety: GA work is done in a fully equipped facility with a specialist anaesthetist.
Will I be unconscious?
Conscious sedation: relaxed and drowsy but responsive. General anaesthesia: fully asleep, with a specialist anaesthetist looking after you throughout.
Can my child have this?
Yes, paediatric sedation and GA are some of the most valuable services we offer. They turn an impossible appointment into a non-event for an anxious child.
How long will I be out of action?
For conscious sedation, rest for the day. For GA, you’ll be tired the day of treatment and back to normal the day after.
Dental Implants
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. A small titanium post is placed in the bone where the tooth was; once it has integrated, a custom crown is attached on top. The result looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth. You can eat, talk and smile without ever thinking about it. Implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth.

What to expect
We start with a full assessment, including 3D scans, to plan exactly where and how the implant will sit. Treatment is staged: placement, healing, then the final crown. Everything is explained (stages, timeline, cost) before you commit. Where appropriate we offer sedation for the placement appointment.
Is it right for you?
- Anyone missing a single tooth, several teeth, or a full arch
- Patients tired of a denture that moves or won’t stay in
- People with enough healthy bone (or open to a small bone graft if needed)
- Anyone wanting a permanent solution, not a temporary one
The process
3D planning
Detailed scans and impressions to plan placement precisely: a digital map of your jaw.
Implant placement
The titanium post is gently placed into the bone. Sedation is available.
Healing
Three to six months while the implant integrates with the bone, becoming part of you.
Final crown
Your custom crown is fitted on top, matched in shade and shape to your natural teeth.
Aftercare
Once healed, an implant is treated like a natural tooth: brush, floss, and keep up your regular check-ups. With good care, well-placed implants can last for decades.
Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
Placement is done with full numbing and is much more comfortable than people expect. Sedation is available if you’d prefer.
How long does the whole process take?
Roughly four to six months from start to final crown, with much of that being passive healing time.
Are implants worth it vs. a bridge or denture?
Long-term, almost always yes. They preserve bone, don’t rely on neighbouring teeth, and feel completely natural.
What if I don’t have enough bone?
Often we can build it up with a small graft. The 3D scan tells us exactly what’s possible.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-made facings bonded to the front of your teeth to reshape, brighten or refine your smile. Done well, the result is so natural that nobody can tell. They just notice you look well. At Bright Smiles veneers are planned around your face, your features and how you want to feel, not a one-size-fits-all template.

What to expect
We start with a proper smile consultation: photographs, a chat about what you’d like to change, a discussion of porcelain versus composite, and a preview of the proposed result. Nothing irreversible begins until you’ve seen and approved the plan. Tooth preparation is kept as conservative as possible.
Is it right for you?
- Chipped, worn or uneven front teeth
- Small gaps you’d like closed
- Permanently discoloured teeth that don’t respond to whitening
- Anyone wanting a refined, natural-looking smile enhancement
The process
Smile consultation
Photographs, conversation, and the design of a result that suits your face.
Preview & approval
Where appropriate we preview the shape so you can see and feel it before we commit.
Preparation & lab work
Conservative preparation, then your custom veneers are crafted by our trusted ceramist.
Fit & refine
Each veneer is bonded carefully, then refined for comfort, finish and natural translucency.
Aftercare
Treat veneers like natural teeth: brush, floss and avoid using your teeth as tools. Keep up your check-ups so we can monitor them. Well-cared-for porcelain veneers last for years.
Frequently asked questions
Will they look fake?
Not the way we do them. Natural-looking shade, shape, translucency. The whole point is that nobody can tell.
Porcelain or composite?
Porcelain lasts longer and resists staining better; composite is more affordable and quicker. We help you choose what suits.
Do you have to grind down my teeth?
Modern veneers need only minimal preparation, sometimes almost none. We’re always as conservative as possible.
How long do they last?
Porcelain veneers commonly last 10–15 years or more. Composite is shorter (5–7 years) but easier to refresh.
3D Smile Design
3D Smile Design is a digital planning process for any major cosmetic change: veneers, smile makeovers, restorative work. We capture your face and teeth digitally, design the proposed result in 3D, and let you preview it before we touch a tooth. It removes the guesswork from cosmetic dentistry and means you walk in knowing exactly what you’re going to walk out with.

What to expect
We take a digital scan, photograph your face from multiple angles and discuss what you’d like changed. From that we design your new smile in software, balancing shape, proportion and colour against your features. You see and approve the result before any treatment starts, and we can even make a temporary preview you can wear for a few minutes to feel it.
Is it right for you?
- Anyone considering veneers, a smile makeover or significant cosmetic work
- Patients who want to see the result before committing
- Cases involving multiple teeth, where planning is essential
- Anyone who’d find it reassuring to walk in with a fully approved plan
The process
Scan & photograph
Digital scans and full-face photography: the data your new smile is designed around.
Design in 3D
We design the proposed smile digitally, balancing shape, proportion and shade against your face.
Preview & approve
You see the result on screen and, where appropriate, try a temporary preview before committing.
Treatment to plan
Your veneers or restorative work are crafted to match the approved design, no surprises.
Aftercare
Aftercare depends on the treatment that follows, typically veneers or restorative work. The design itself is permanent in your record, so we can match and maintain it precisely over time.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an extra cost on top of treatment?
We discuss it upfront. For major cosmetic cases the planning is typically included; for very small changes it may not be needed.
Can I really see the result before deciding?
Yes, on screen, and often as a physical preview you can wear briefly. It’s the whole point.
How accurate is the digital plan?
Very. Your final teeth are made to match the approved design closely, with small refinements at the fit appointment.
Who is it not for?
Single small fillings or minor work. The planning effort is most worthwhile for visible cosmetic and multi-tooth cases.
Injection Moulding
Injection moulding is a precise composite technique used to reshape, restore and refine front teeth without grinding them down. We use a 3D-designed template to inject high-quality composite into exactly the right shape, then refine and polish it by hand. It’s minimally invasive, often completed in fewer visits than veneers, and, because almost no tooth structure is removed, it’s a beautifully conservative option for the right case.

What to expect
We plan the new shape digitally first (often as part of a 3D smile design), then take a clear template made to that exact design. At the appointment, we isolate the teeth, place the template, and inject composite that’s cured in place. Final shaping and polishing give you a result that looks completely natural.
Is it right for you?
- Small chips, worn edges or minor asymmetries
- Closing small gaps or refining tooth proportions
- Patients who want a conservative alternative to veneers
- Anyone wanting a reversible cosmetic improvement
The process
Digital design
Your new shape is planned digitally, often alongside a 3D smile design.
Custom template
A precise clear template is made to your approved shape.
Inject & cure
Composite is injected into the template and cured directly onto your teeth, no grinding.
Refine & polish
Final shaping and polishing for a natural finish that feels indistinguishable from your own teeth.
Aftercare
Treat them like natural teeth: brush, floss and avoid biting hard objects. Composite can stain a little over time, so less coffee or red wine helps. We can refresh the polish at your check-ups.
Frequently asked questions
How does this compare to veneers?
More conservative, often more affordable, easier to refresh, but doesn’t last quite as long as porcelain. It’s ideal for the right case.
Is it reversible?
Largely yes, because we don’t grind your teeth down to bond, the composite can be removed if needed and your natural tooth is preserved.
How long does it last?
Five to seven years on average with good care, with small refreshes possible along the way.
How many visits?
Often just one or two, depending on how many teeth are being treated.
